Railway station in Northeim

Northeim was connected to the railway network with the opening of the route Alfeld-Göttingen in July 1854.
The railway building was constructed around 1885 and was bombed in the war in 1945.
Today's railway station was rebuilt only at the end of 1960.

Northeim was connected to the Inter Regio Net in 1988 until Inter Regio was disestablished in the year 2002. Since then the Inter City stops Northeim.
At the Northeim railway station rail tracks from the cardinal points meet here and the next ICE railway station Göttingen ist is only 10 train-minutes away.

Since 1993 the railway station Northeim is a modern travel centre without the well-known counters.
One needs just 10 to 15 minuted from the station for a shopping trip in the city centre.
