The size of the market town Bodenfelde is ca. 1.989 ha. The charming countryside offers meadows, forests, rivers, cycling and hilking paths - for recreation seekers a paradise. Concerts take place regularly at the medieval hunting lodge Nienover. Since 1977 a partnership exist with the community Pyhrn in Austria.

The market town Bodenfelde is situated in the Weser Hills , embedded in the nature resort Solling-Vogler and is the smallest community of the rural district Northeim with a population of ca. 3.500. The market town Bodenfelde is comprised of the villages Amelith, Bodenfelde, Nienover, Polier, Wahmbeck. The state approved health resort Bodenfelde is situated directly at the upper Weser.
